Lewis Koprowski

My name is Lewis Koprowski, and here's a guitar from Bravewood in Cornwall, UK. The body was cut from very light alder and finished in black nitro, with double-cream binding. It has an AllParts RW Board Neck finished in nitro by Steve at http://www.manchesterguitartech.co.uk/ with a Tusq Nut and Kluson tuners (neck was originally a WD as photo).

I was expecting to pick up a box of parts and put it together  myself, but when I arrived at Bravewood, John had put it together-this included a set up and the nut was cut!

I've put a  Duncan Alnico Pro II in with great results. The guitar's got plenty of guts and can do the twang thang with the best of them! I also installed an Electro socket jackcup (thanks, Peter!) and Fontana saddles; also a pair of Callaham Heavy Knurl knobs (they're BIG!).

Big thanks to John at www.bravewoodguitars.com for a truly special instrument...I wouldnt hesitate in using his services again.

My other Telecaster is a 1996 American Standard... The first thing I did was change the pup's out for a pair of Bardens. Other than that, I was planning on leaving this guitar stock and not mutilate it like my others! :D But I didn't. It started with an Earvana nut, soon  I swapped it out for a Graphtech tremnut and Graphtech saddles, later changed out for a Tusq nut and stock saddles.

Next I installed the Hipshot B-Bender with the drop D. This is a fantastic unit...it does take time to get used to, but it works really well. I had to drill holes through the back of the bridge for the E and B strings to run through and file the saddles down. I eventually swapped the bridge out for a MannMade USA (www.mannmadeusa.com ) classic Tele bridge. This unit is great! With Schaller straplocks and dome top knobs, this Tele is a real player!

February, 2004:
A TDP'er (Kevin) has cut me a body from some great ASH blanks from USA custom, and finished it in nitro (Reranch Butterscotch Dye). The true colour is fairly close to the photo below. The maple Esquire neck is going on this one (WD Onepiece soft V), as well as a tortoise shell pickguard .

More updates and photos to come...
